Pre-stressed Steel Bars Pre-stressed steel bars actually refer to steel bars used for
pre-stressed concrete. They are also called as pile steel wires or
P.C. steel bars. They are mainly used as the reinforcing wires of
pre-stressed high-strength concrete (PHC) piles. P.C. steel bars
were developed successfully in 1964 by Japan’s Nihon Koshuha Co.,
Ltd. At first people called them as UL Bond for their supper
bonding force. In China, we transliterated their name as Wu Long
Bang”.
